James & Amy – E-session

How endearing and sweet these two are. James (aka Jimmy) and Amy of Amy-Kate Photography are so cute and naturally playful, we loved photographing their e-session and catching up for dinner afterwards. We first met Amy, while we were both exhibiting at this year’s Ballina Bridal expo and we thought she was a real sweetheart. Beaming with smiles and only lovely words to say. When we met Jimmy, we thought aaawww, it was obvious how much he loves her. He had an ‘only the best for her’ attitude and was so considerate and supportive of her growing photography business. What can we say – they must be meant to be!

For this shoot, Amy chose a wonderfully unique location and we had some fun experimenting with the new surrounds. Their relaxed interaction and mischievous playfulness was such a joy to capture – it simply lit up their faces with fun and love.

Thanks for being so much fun guys – looking forward to your wonderful wedding day next May!  We are both honoured and flattered to be your photographers :-)

Some fun with Mike + Amy Photographers

On Saturday we had some fun doing a shoot for Mike & Amy Photographers from Coffs Harbour. We were excited about the prospect, when they asked us some months ago, and were looking forward to catching up. These two are such a vibrant couple and so full of life and laughter. Despite having a little bit of nerves in the  beginning, Amy quickly got over that and enjoyed some cuddles and laughter with Mike in the warm winter sun. We took them to our regular stomping ground at Southern Cross Uni to start the shoot and then followed by the ever popular butterfly walk – and guess what??? We actually saw some butterflies for the first time!

So Mike & Amy you were wondering if we found at least 12 good shots … Thank goodness I was there – Craig only got 2 so I had to contribute 10 Hehehehe …

A funky wall … and such high flying photographers :-P

Oh and don’t worry, we’ve kept a couple up our sleeves for the gallery…hehehe. Thanks for having us do a shoot for you guys and being so much fun. Looking forward to the next shoot down in your neck of the woods. :-)

Shaun & Monique – E-session

We spent last Sunday afternoon hanging with Shaun and Monique out at Flat Rock in Ballina, where Shaun spent much of his surfing days! The winter sun was gorgeous and we had a great time getting to know these two. Such an easy going and wonderful couple! Thanks for being so flexible guys and we are sorry we got you so wet Monique.  Your expressions were priceless though. :-) Enjoy some teasers from the afternoon.

High and dry

We saw this fantastic driftwood prop and it looked safe…

…oops! Maybe the tide is still too high (hehe)

Somewhere a bit drier to recover

Now the tide is out lets try the driftwood again

Round #2 – Who would have guessed

We are really looking forward to your wedding in September!  I’m sure we can keep it drier – promise ;-)

Brent & Bec – A Gorgeous Autumn Wedding

It is always an honour and so much fun when we are asked to photograph another photographer’s wedding. Brent & Bec of B&B Photographics had a beautiful wedding on Saturday and had such glorious weather too! We have known this pair for over a year now and have enjoyed watching them grow in their business and as a couple. Bec has a personality that you could only describe as ‘effervescent’ – with her sheer excitement about the simplest things and Brent would have to be the ‘cool cat’ – a quiet, observant and a loyal fella, that doesn’t seem to be phased by much. Together they are a lively duo and perfect for eachother.

Their ceremony was held at St. Bartholomew in Alstonville followed by a scrummy location shoot at Lyndoch on the Lake – a great kept secret location in the Byron hinterland. We ended the evening as guests at the Ballina RSL for the reception, where many amusing stories, childhood photos and laughter were shared.

Congratulations on your marriage Bec & Brent!! Enjoy some of the memories captured …

Beautiful bouquets prepared by the very talented Lana from Green Lotus

Time to Celebrate!

Loved the autumn colours and light at Lyndoch. It was super yummy.

A step back in time with this 300-year old cottage. A fairy tale in the making.

Then with the help of the bridal party, the newly wed were showered in autumn leaves.

And here’s how they look at each other ‘adoringly’ – You’ve just got to laugh :-)

An intimate moment to end the location shoot.

Brent and Bec, we truly enjoyed being your photographers and guests. Thank you for allowing us to share in your day and thank you for spoiling us with your location shoot choice – it was amazing!
