Ben & Sam E-session

On Sunday we had the opportunity to photograph Ben and Sam’s e-session and meet their playful son Corey. Ben and Corey are both profoundly deaf so it was definitely a new experience for Craig and I as Sam signed our instructions. We’ve always had a great appreciation for sign language skills and are always humbled by the resourceful way in which the deaf community integrates and communicates in a world of hearing people.  This region has a warm and tight knit community of deaf people and we are honoured to be the photographers of choice for Ben & Sam’s wedding in March 2009.

As always, we had plenty of fun and they all did wonderful in front of the camera. Check out some of our favourites.

a cheeky bling bling shot :-)

High-action Corey… love the tongue hanging out

Elliott & Amy E-session

What an eventful weekend we had in Brisbane. We got to catch up with some friends to do a 1st installment of ‘Watch Me Grow’ (Matt & Bryde’s Awaiting), meet up with Todd & Anita, who will be having their wedding next May and also do an e-session with Elliott and Amy!

These two are super sweet! They are not only high school sweethearts, but their story is a great reflection of young love. For those interested, they have created their own website with stories of how their romance has blossomed through the years. It’s a great read! Both being current students at The University of Queensland, it was only appropriate that we used the beautiful grounds there for the e-session. Check out how sweet they look together!

Look forward to your wedding in February

Sam flying solo

Back in August this year, we introduced Sam to you. She had been training with us for over 12 months and was helping us build a Children’s Lifestyle photography business. Sam’s growth in this area was so amazing that we all thought it was time for the “sparrow” to spread her wings… so she is now flying solo under her own banner as Sami B Photographer. Sam will continue to specialise in Lifestyle photography while we will specialise in weddings. We will also continue to shoot ‘Watch Me Grow’ packages because we love it so much :-) Check out Sam’s website and blog. Her work is really rockin it!

In a way, Craig and I feel a little bit like proud parents seeing her “all grown up” and out on her own (pretty sad hey :-) . We love you Sam. Here’s to a fruitful, fun, challenging and amazing journey for you in photography and being a part of other people’s lives. Hip hip hooray!!

Megan Trashes The Dress…in secret - ssshhhh

Ok so we promised not to post this until Nick got his Anniversary present, so finally here it is… Megan McQuilty, one of our brides from last year requested some photos with two of her husband’s favourite things as a gift for their first year anniversary - her in a wedding dress and his trail bike :-D

Even though their anniversary was in October we couldn’t do the shoot until the end of November cause we were so busy with weddings. Unfortunately this meant Megan couldn’t open her present from Nick until he got his..so sorry Meggsie, but I bet it was worth the wait :-D Megan was kind enough to take a photo of the look on his face when he saw these…

I wonder if he was thinking, ‘how did she keep this as a secret from me all that time?’

Here are some other favourites of ours from the session

The ‘End of Days’ look…

Not quite the full on Trashing but that’s for next time, when it’s not a secret and we can involve Nick too :-)

Matt & Bryde’s awaiting

Our beautiful friends Matt & Bryde are having a baby!!! We are so ecstatic for them. Not only because of that fact but because we get to follow little Gemma-Louise’s journey in her first year too as we watch her grow. :-) Yes they’ve named her already! Gemma is expected in late January so we’ll be checking in with them again very soon. This is an awesome blessing guys. We love you and we are privileged to be involved in capturing treasures of your first born child together!

Miley is 6 months old!!

For those who have been following our Watch Me Grow series, this is the 3rd one in the installment for Wade and Sarah - from maternity to newborn and now 6 months old. Miley is such a cutie!!! You should have seen Craig and I giggling like little children as we reviewed her images on our camera back home. She had so many different expressions, so gorgeous and so hilarious at the same time. One of my favourites was her assuming the sky diving position on the tiled floor with a cheeky smile on her face - absolute crack up!  Such a breath of fresh air and such a joy to photograph! I can see that there would be many hours of laughter and joy in the Spencer home.

Mum and bubba

Look at those eyes…so captivating

One of my favourites…training at such a young age :-)

“this photo thing is so much fun, can we do it again soon”

Mischievous Miley’s first Christmas…how exciting!!

So focussed…

What a joyful moment…another one of my favourites

“It wasn’t me mum”

“It was dad…”

“hehehe just kidding”

What a little darling

so sweet and tender…

Aawww doesn’t this one just make your heart melt..poor little bubba, she’s all worn out now..must be time to say goodbye.

Wade and Sarah thanks again for allowing us to be part of Miley’s first year. Not only did we have so much fun but it keeps us young each time we see her precious little face light up :-)

Little Blake

We went through a couple of weeks of some dreary, rainy days here in Lismore. This is the time of year for storms in the north coast… so it was great to have little Blake and family to photograph to brighten up the day! You just can’t go past those adorable chubby cheeks and big blue eyes!! Here’s a sneak peek.

I love this little series… it makes us laugh.. a lot

I couldn’t resist but snap this one of mum and dad helping to get Blake smiling…

… and it worked :-) What a cutie!

Some time with mummy and daddy …

and then back inside to tackle one of his favourite toys … aarrghh
